My Mum

She would have to be one of the most unique people you'll ever meet.
She has the ability to liven up the dullest of atmospheres with her quick
wit and magnetic personality.
I just love being around to watch the way people react when she is in their presence.

It doesn't seem like long ago when I would hold her hand and we would walk up to the shops together and buy 20c worth of milk bottles (my favorite lollies).....
and now here I am a Mum myself.
When I'm overwhelmed with things in my own life I'll call her and she is always my sanctuary, I don't even have to talk to her about how I'm feeling I just listen to her voice and I'm that 4 year old kid again and what I was uptight about just dissolves.
( Isn't it funny that a voice can be such an anchor to certain emotions and comforts.)

I hate being so far away from her ( she lives interstate) but I ring her regularly, maybe even too regularly ,she calls me her' stalker'.

She can make me laugh even when I don't feel like laughing ( not an easy task for some, in fact it could even be dangerous ). I love her for all these things and more.

If she was reading this now she would be saying " Well whats the more! write about the more! I wanna hear about the more!"
Too many mores to write Mum :) , but know you are a real light for me and I never want to be without you.

The Girls

My Sister Vanessa and my Niece Kara are over from South Australia
for a couple of days. Sage has just loved having her cousin over here
we have been doing so may girly things together , from shopping and lipgloss
to dress ups and photo shoots ,they have had a ball together.
Although one minute they are giving each other big wet kisses and the next
they're arguing about wheather grazed knee's bleed or not! Some interesting
conversations had by these two. Lol.
All in all , they are really enjoying being together.

Kara and Sage playing in the garden at Nanna's house.
They had an absolute ball throwing around the lemons
spinning in their dresses and looking for worms in buckets :)

Nanna

Such a beautiful person!!
Such wonderful memories!!
Pancakes with homemade jam,
great stories, warming my clothes
by the heater before bed, hot water bottles
to curl up with on sleep overs.

No matter how hard things get
for her, she never complains and
always manages to focus on the
positives. Her attitude never ceases
to amaze me. If only we could all be
a little more like her, constantly looking
for the good in people what a nicer place
it would be.

She is one of my favorite
people in this world, I love her dearly.

My Niece , Kara

We don't get to see her often enough because she lives interstate, but she's always in our thoughts.

Auntie Rachael misses her girl :(

My Man

Caring , understanding, loving and
compassionate. Paul is all of these
and more.
He makes me laugh sooooooo much.
Where would we be without him.

Me

I am a proud mum of four children ,
three boys and a girl, they and Paul
are everything to me.
At times they drive me absolutely crazy,
but I could not even imagine being without
a single one of them!
(even when I'm rocking backwards and
forwards in the corner lol)

Zak

Full of energy mischief and a very loving nature.

He loves to make us laugh and challanges me daily :)

But he is a special little boy and I love him very much.

Jaye

Jaye has such a beautiful nature and is always a pleasure to be around, he's an absolute dream child.

Ricky turns 16!!

My baby boy has just turned 16!!
How can that be when he was only
put in my arms for the first time yesterday?!!
Where does the time go?
A fine young man he's turned out to be
We are very proud of him.

Sooooo Cheeky!!!

Sage's personality right there!

photos of Sage

Here are some recent photos of Sage.
When she is not getting into my high
heels and make-up , she loves posing
for the camera.

Sage with her dog 'Smookey'.
She takes this little
stuffed creature in its handbag everywhere!
Sage had dubbed me 'Smookey' before 'it' came along
(I thought it was such a cute name) , now the furball's
got my name and I'm just back to being Mum.

Mummy's Little Angel

I adore all of my boys and am so proud of each one of them.
They are all special to me in there own ways and I thank god I have them!

But being a girly girl myself I desperately wanted
a little girl. As happy as I was, I always felt a sense
of not being complete, I longed for a daughter, someone I
could share all those girly things with, someone that I could
relate to. Tea parties , pretty dresses , shopping, dolls, those special
girly chats and that bond that a mother and daughter share.

Before Sage was even a thought I had this dream........
I dreamt of this little girl, this beautiful little baby girl that I was holding,
and in my dream, she was MINE!!
She was breathtaking, she had these blue eyes....... and her name was Sage.
I fell in love with this baby , I felt complete.
Then something awful happened......I woke up only to find out it wasn't
my reality. I felt this overwhelming feeling of emptiness. I turned over to
Paul he was fast asleep, so I woke him of course :) to tell him about my dream.
I told him all about her, about how beautiful she was and how real my dream seemed and about
that name... 'Sage' ,I had never heard of it before, I loved it!! Not a name that I would
have typically picked , but it was perfect.
Paul listened to me (not that he had much choice lol) but reminded me it was just a dream and we have three beautiful boys and we agreed we weren't having anymore kids.
As much as we wanted a little girl it wasn't right to plan a baby in the hope of having a girl.
I knew he was right but I couldn't help but feel miserable.
I just had to accept it.

About a week later I was stuck in bed with this virus, I was so tired and sick.
I couldn't seem to shake it no matter how much rest I had. Then it hit me ....this really feels
like morning sickness , so off I went to the chemist to get my test.
I came home did my test and GUESS WHAT?????
Yep, I was pregnant, with MY LITTLE GIRL, and guess what we called her??

She is two and a half now and this is no exaggeration, not a single day that goes by do
I not think.... I can not believe I've got a little girl!!! It's like it still hasn't hit me. Every time I put her in a little dress, every time I brush her hair, or play dolls with her , every time we cuddle, every time she's covered in my lipstick or my moisturiser or strutting her stuff down the hallway in my high heels, I am reminded of how blessed and lucky I am.
She is the most amazing little person, everything I could have ever wanted.
She's cheeky, she's so loving , she's clever, she's assertive, she's bossy :) , she's
nurturing, she's so bloody funny and she is beautiful!!

Her Dad tears up every couple of days when she comes out with something sweet or she says, 'I love you Daddy',although he tears up even more with the thought of her turning 16!
He is always reminding me of the line he will be using on the boy that comes to the door for her.... 'That's fine , you can take out my daughter , but just remember..........
whatever you do to her I will do to you'! God help that poor kid.
She is so loved by all of her brothers they treat her like an absolute princess and she just adores everyone of them. Zak is the one she looks for for running through the house and playing hide and seek , Jaye is the one she seeks for stories and cuddles and Ricky is the one she is comforted by when she's feeling unsure.

NO chance of her ever getting a boyfriend though!
Not with three brothers and her dad.
(Although , I suppose she won't need one in the nunnery :)

We think even the boys feel complete now , Jaye says to me regularly I'm so glad I've got a sister mummy.

So that's the story (so far) of our little Princess who obviously was just meant to be here.

Princess Ava

Hi, My motivation for starting this blog is in remembrance of little Ava Rosemeyer, who left this place on the 5th of February 2007 to continue her journey in heaven , she is playing with the angels until her loved ones meet up with her again.

Little Ava is the daughter of my sisters friend Sheye.

Ava lived in a loving home, with her family and her Grandfather who also lives in his house on the same property.
There is one fence around the property, it was built to keep the children safe to go between the two home's which they have done all their lives.
On Feb 3, the family car was unusually parked in between both home's in full sun due to the electric gates being broken , the car was always locked (just not this time).
After telling her Grandad that she was returning to Mummy's, Ava made her way into the car to look for something but was unable to make her way back out. The child safety locks were on the back doors.
It was only minutes later that her mother and grandfather found her........ Minutes in a hot car is all it takes for a small child to be in terrible trouble!

Ava fought for 2 days but then lost her battle .
I have never met Ava personally, but I have never been affected by anything so much outside of my own family. You only need to go through her Mothers blog site http://www.sheyerosemeyer.blogspot.com/ to see how much this little girl was loved and cared for. This made me realise that this sort of thing could happen to anyone of us. So of course the more knowledge and awareness we can arm ourselves and our kids with to prevent the same accident from happening again, the better.

I have posted Ava on my blog not only because she is one of the most breath taking little girls I've seen but to create an awareness, that I have read her parents want to get out there to people , to teach their children how dangerous parked cars are and how to get out of a one if they are ever stuck. Most importantly teach them never to get into a parked car without an adult, but just in case they do ever find themselves stuck, teach them to climb over into the front seat (if the child safety locks are on the back doors),to beep the horn, sit on the horn, lift the button whatever it takes for this to not happen to another child again.
Some may say, well why not just teach them not to get into a car without an adult to begin with?
Isn't that part of being a kid , testing your parents boundaries and sometimes doing the total opposite to what you've been told?
Please make everyone that you know aware of what can happen and has happened to Ava.

This is a slide show of Ava's life , they are photos that were taken by her mother who is a very talented photographer http://creativeclips.net.au/ava.mov ( it takes about 5 mins to load). After looking at it you will also have no doubt that Ava is an 'Angel'.

Ava you will always be in our hearts
and thoughts

Please pray for her family

xx Rachael
